Pangolins, also known as scaly anteaters, are real animals that need your help.
Found in Asia and Africa, Pangolins are the only mammal to be covered in large keratin scales. Pangolins have no teeth, and use their long tongue to eat ants and other insects. When threatened, pangolins curl into a ball to protect themselves.
Although found to have no medicinal benefits, Pangolin scales are highly prized for treating a variety of ailments in some traditional medicines. They are also thought to be a delicacy in some cultures, often made into soup. As a result, 10,000's of pangolins are killed in the illegal wildlife trade every year.
